The Department of Food Engineering at Adıyaman University was established in 2011 with the aim of contributing scientifically to the rapidly evolving fields of food science and technology. Since its establishment, the department has developed an academic structure that integrates regional agricultural and food potential with scientific knowledge, adopts an interdisciplinary perspective, and focuses on sustainable food systems.
Although educational activities are not currently being conducted, our academic staff continues to engage in research, project development, and sectoral collaborations. The department maintains its scientific productivity in areas such as food safety, edible packaging, biotechnological applications, sustainable production techniques, and innovative food design. Our goal is to remain an academic center that provides solutions to current issues in the food sector, prioritizes societal benefit, and supports scientific advancement.
With these objectives, the Department of Food Engineering at Adıyaman University began admitting students in the 2012–2013 academic year. However, student admission was discontinued in 2019.
